My friend recommended that I try the sandwiches here, and they did not disappoint! Came here on a Tuesday around 12:30 PM and there was only one person ahead of me. It's a shop with walls lined with wine bottles and a display case filled with a variety of delicious-looking cheeses. The staff are super friendly and offered me a sample of French cheese with cherry preserves, which was lovely and tart. I got the Toulouse Sandwich with arugula salad, and it was perfection! The ciabatta roll was so fluffy and light, and I saw that they also sell fresh ciabatta rolls inside by themselves. I loved the fig jam paired with the Manchego, and they added just the right amount of duck so that it didn't overwhelm the delicate flavors of the sandwich. They gave a generous portion of arugula in and outside of the sandwich as well, and I was very satisfied after. You have to try it if you can!

One of my favorite lunch spots in SF! I ordered pickup through DoorDash for a Toulese sandwich, which is a smoked duck breast sandwich with fig, and was almost immediately notified the sandwich was ready for pickup. However, I feel like the sandwiches are getting smaller and smaller over time :(

Came in for Raclette party ingredients and left *an even bigger fan* of this cheese shop. WOW, what great service from the gentleman who said he loved Raclette parties (didn't catch his name)! He assembled the right amount of Raclette and Morbier cheese, as well as Serrano and rosemary ham for us. Gave an excellent recommendation for a clean champagne to go with it (and dessert)! Threw in two jars of cornichons because why not?! Looking around the shop, it's a cute and quaint little space, packed with tasty delights, somewhat like the shops at Rue Cler. It'll make you want to be French (... and too bad I can't speak the language)!

La Fromagerie has remained a lunch staple for me for many years so this review is long overdue. First, I'd like to say I love the selection here and how knowledgeable they are on all their products. They are always very kind and friendly to any questions or request. I usually get the sandwiches or salads for lunch though. My favorite sandwiches are the provincal and the italian. Both are on their great bread that is airy with a great chew. Both have fresh ingredients. Both use minimal fillings as to highlight how great each product is. Inside is a cute French cheese shop with a robust wine collection.

you know it's bouta smack when a french mf ask would you like side chip or side salad. Went a lil too crazy...

I was walking around the neighborhood looking for an affordable apartment. Search was unsuccessfully - I'd need to sell a kidney to afford it. But hey, silver lining - stumbled into La Fromagerie. Needed some cheese therapy. This place is really cute and small, but don't be fooled... it has more cheese than a rom-com marathon. Seriously, the selection's insane. Cheese, wine, meats - all my vices crammed into one small shop. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable! They could probably convince you to buy a wheel of Limburger even if you're lactose intolerant. Grabbed a couple new kinds of cheese, duck liver pate, and a can of white wine to eat with my gf. After a whole day of walking, this perfect snack revived us more than any rent-controlled apartment ever could.

Great selections of cheese and wine. Love the attentive and friendly service. Asked a lot of questions about the cheese and knowledgeable salesperson was very helpful. Recommended the store to friends and family.

I've passed by this spot a number of times but just figured the name said it all. While I probably could devour a wheel of Parmigiana-Reggiani or more likely, squeeze a bottle of Cheez Whiz down my gullet, it didn't strike me that they actually served salads and sandwiches until I saw what I erroneously thought was a continuous parklet that accommodated diners of all the businesses in the area. However, I was tersely told by a server at the neighboring restaurant Ungrafted that I couldn't eat there. Never mind that it was the middle of the afternoon, they had no customers, and that I was almost finished with my sandwich. Forgive me for apparently I have sinned. However, the woman running the cheese shop was very patient as I reviewed their sandwich menu. I landed on the $12.49 Toulouse Sandwich which featured slices of smoked duck breast, manchego cheese, both dried figs and fig jam, and arugula, all between a wood-fired ciabatta bun. It came with a hearty side of arugula salad drizzled with a tangy mustard vinaigrette (photo: https://bit.ly/3RRvqan). I took my takeout lunch to a table that looked to be outside the shop, but apparently I was unforgivably mistaken by the Ungrafted server. In order to avoid further scolding, I walked a few blocks down to Crane Cove Park where I could sit at a picnic table without harassment. Like I said, I just had a few bites left, but I really liked the sandwich enough to consider coming back to La Fromagerie soon where I can have them convert a sandwich into a salad. Would I consider Ungrafted? Well, she could've been nicer. FOOD - 4 stars...a hearty, tasty sandwich with a whole lotta arugula AMBIANCE - 4 stars...compact shop surrounded by quality product SERVICE - 4 stars...well, I thought the woman at La Fromagerie was nice, the neighbor not so much TOTAL - 4 stars...a fine lunchtime find for sure RELATED - Exploring Dogpatch? Cute little cheese shop. Quite a few different cheeses available, cut to order. They have salads, sandwiches, meats and other food knickknacks to pair with their cheeses. Tons of wines on sale as well. Street parking.
